Posted on 03/13/2024 at 11:32 AM by The Newsroom

Attorneys from Dickinson Bradshaw’s Employment & Labor and Workers Compensation practice groups are busy preparing educational sessions designed to help you navigate the new frontier of employment laws at the 2024 Employment Law Seminar.

Planned topics include important information for employers on pay transparency, recorded termination meetings, guns in the workplace, legal updates, special PTO programs, a group panel on NLRB issues impacting employment policies and union organizing policies, our popular case study on the challenges posed when FLMA, ADA and Workers Compensation collide, and more.

The seminar will be held in person this year on Thursday, May 23rd at Hilton Garden Inn in West Des Moines from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Tour the Mobile Workforce Center at the Seminar

This year’s event will include a special appearance of the IowaWORKS Mobile Workforce Center, a custom 32-foot bus that allows Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) staff to serve Iowans with their employment needs on the road. Comprised of 10 workstations, the vehicle is a designated American Job Center and allows visitors to search for jobs, build their resume, and get one-on-one assistance from IWD planners during events such as job fairs and mass layoff situations. Don’t miss this opportunity to take a tour!

More information on the bus can be found at workforce.iowa.gov/mobile-center, and a video of the new vehicle can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvHMpJFlaFw.
